Happy New Year!

With the arrival of the new book, The Search for Captain Ben, we are kicking things in to high gear by going to festivals and other events to do book signings. This year looks to be a promising one for all things associated with Blackbear the Pirate. Stories three, four, and five are ready to roll, so my illustrator Ruth, will be painting away as we look to release books three and four over the course of the year, and book five as we go into 2013.

If you are interested in pirate history look for a new edition of Pirates Magazine in early March, I will have a couple of feature articles. Also, follow my piratical writings in two other monthly publications, The Mariner, and Attitudes & Latitudes Seafaring Magazine. My articles are featured each month in both of these magazines.

One final note is that we are launching a campaign for the Blackbear book series, using one of the most creative publicity and public relations agencies in North America, Smith Publicity.

As we continued the book tour, we found ourselves in Lexington, KY this past weekend at the Fine Arts & Craft Show, right in the heart of Wildcat country. On the way, we stopped by my childhood home where I spent the first half of my youth. I had not been back for forty years, and saw nothing has changed. Truly, time has stood still in little old St.Albans, West Virginia! Visit me on Facebook to see the pictures of the home.

The Holiday Home and Gift show in New Bern was fabulous! Met lots of friendly folks down there. Everyone loved Blackbear! In fact, we sold out of books on Saturday, which is the first time that has ever happened. Advance orders for book two, The Search for Captain Ben, are flowing, and a second printing may be necessary before we receive the first order of books!? Met Captain Black Bear'd, a New Bern bear statue that sits along the Neuse River. Thanks everyone for your support!

I will be at the Holiday Home & Gift Show in New Bern, North Carolina On Friday, November 11 - Sunday, November 13, signing books and taking orders. This will be a special event for me as my parents live in New Bern.
Thanks to all the folks that came out to the Howard County Fairgrounds over the weekend! Good time had by all. Everyone seems to be getting in the mood for the holidays. I appreciate all the kind words and positive feedback. I was ecstatic to share an actual copy of the second book in the series. We are still on track to receive shipment of the books on or about the 10th of December, give or take a few days. I will begin signing and shipping as soon as I get them, so everyone should have their copies before the holidays. Looks like we will be going into the third printing of the first book just after the first of the year.
